Individual Therapy

Who do you work with?

Individual therapy is powerful, a brave first step towards building the relationship that you will always have; one with your sacred self.

I love working with individuals who desire freedom, authenticity, and a space to leave behind beliefs that disconnected them from their beautiful bodies. My clients have often internalized messages of sexual shame and a belief that their inner selves are deceptive. These beliefs were often reinforced with theological justifications (frequently in the context of the Evangelical Purity Movement), leading to a profound mistrust of one's own body and instincts. This outlook systematically undermines self-esteem, personal aspirations, and emotional authenticity. Together, we will reconnect to your inherent goodness, wisdom, passion, and the person you deserved to be. Free.

What is Purity Culture?

The evangelical purity movement, prominent from the 1990s onward, promoted sexual abstinence until marriage as a moral imperative within conservative Christian communities. It emphasized purity rings, pledges, and purity balls, framing premarital sex as sinful and harmful. The movement often reinforced gender roles, particularly focusing on female modesty and male leadership. Unfortunately,  it contributed to shame surrounding sexuality, rigid gender norms, and sexual relationships that leave many couples and individuals hurting and lost.

Do you accept insurance?

I am in-network with Premera and Lifewise. You will need to determine the level of coverage your insurance will offer for therapy services.

I am an out-of-network provider for all other insurance plans.  However, I understand the financial considerations involved in seeking therapy. I offer competitive rates and can provide you with a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement, depending on your plan's out-of-network benefits.
